What are Changing Places Toilets?

Standard accessible toilets do not meet the needs of all people with a disability.

People with profound and multiple learning disabilities, as well people with other physical disabilities such as spinal injuries, muscular dystrophy and multiple sclerosis, often need extra equipment and space to allow them to use the toilets safely and comfortably. These needs are met by Changing Places toilets.
People with disabilities can be excluded from daily outings that we sometimes take for granted: going swimming, relaxing at the beach, meeting up with friends for a coffee in town.

When I started an online petition, Gosport had no Changing Places toilet, the nearest one was Southsea. However The Discovery Centre is now undergoing a refurbishment which includes a Changing Places Toilet and other facilities to make it more inclusive.
I have been informed that the Alver Valley play park will also have a Changing Places toilet. However I am still as determined as ever that the Holbrook Leisure Centre should have this facility. Not having one means that they are excluding people.
