Four years of fighting – the school cuts bite.

My son James is a bright and remarkable young man. He has ADHD and autism, and needs support to help him find his place in the world.
It took us four years of fighting to get James a place in a specialist school and the support he needs.

We now know there are more than 2,000 children in England with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) without a place in school.
That’s heartbreaking.
It’s a scandal that the Government isn’t fulfilling its basic duty: making sure schools have the resources to support children with SEND.
After years of damaging cuts, schools are reporting losses in staff and the equipment necessary to support children like James.
Every child deserves a chance to go to school. Every child deserves a place where they can build relationships, be happy and learn in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Thank you for standing with James and all children with SEND,
Emma,
James’ very proud mum
